At this point, don’t limit yourself to only jobs you can do now, - You’re dreaming now. If work was
fun and meaningful to you, what would you do? If you dream of being a medical doctor, but really
know you don’t want to spend years in medical school, there are still many related careers that
could be just the right thing for you. At this point you’re exploring careers.
Instructions:
1. Using Exercise 1, choose three jobs you would like to have and do some research on each
job. There are several good places on the Internet to find information on different jobs:
O-Net Online – http://online.onetcenter.org
America’s Job Exchange – www.americasjobexchange.com
Career One Stop – www.careeronestop.org
Enter a job title or keyword related to a job and you will find career information, including
job responsibilities, education and training needed, skills required, locations, salaries, and
related jobs. You can use an actual job listing or a site with general career information.
2. Complete a form for each job, focusing on the duties, skills, requirements, and career paths
for each job.
