               Review the slide contents – ways to cope when you have different rules and
               consequences with the other parent.
                 Avoid comparisons – focus on what the rules are in your home –


                       “It’s great that your Dad lets you eat in your room. – Here we eat
                       in the kitchen, so we don’t eat more than we need or make a
                       mess that has to be cleaned up later.” Notice how we explained
                       the why…


                 Don’t make assumptions – kids often try to play one parent off the other.
                   Check your facts before you react.

                       “Mom lets me stay out until 10:30 on school nights.” “Wow, guess I’d
                       better give her a call and find out more about that.”


                 Find things you do agree on with your Ex
                   Even if you do have different rules for some things, find things you do
                   agree on like keeping the kids safe, attending school functions, etc.
