Slide 3 –5 Things My Child Needs from Mom - Boys

The Importance of Moms

For Evaluation Only
 Review contents on the slide – overviewing each column and the special
needs of boys.

Moms develop the first bond with their children, and mothers of boys and
girls need to provide children with:
1. Safety – Identifying a place where they feel safe and protected.

2. Nurturing – being supportive, putting your child first, giving them
affection, seeing to their emotional needs, being there.
3. Basic Trust – Developing respect and trust with their child means
respecting them for who they are, and consistently being there for their

child, so their child knows they can depend on them.
4. Belonging – Moms provide a sense of home, of being part of a family,
of making a difference, and emphasizing each kid’s unique abilities and
personality.

5. Someone to Love – Giving love to your child without expecting it in
return, shows kids how give love back to you and others.
