What is forgiveness?
Forgiveness is a decision you make to let go of resentment and thoughts of
revenge.
You don’t have to agree with what happened or think that the person was
right, but it’s about letting the hurt go and not be the focus of your life.
Forgiveness doesn't mean that you deny the other person's responsibility
for hurting you, and it doesn't minimize or justify the wrong. You can
forgive the person without excusing the act.
Forgiveness brings a kind of peace that helps you go on with life.
What are the effects of holding a grudge?
You can bring that anger into other relationships
You can get so wrapped up in the grudge that it becomes your main focus,
and you don’t see the good around you right now.
You can become anxious or depressed.
Forgiveness leads to:
Less anxiety and stress
Lower blood pressure
Healthier relationships
