 You are the role model your children follow. Are you showing your

kids what you want them to see?

o Kids watch you to see how to react to different situations.
o Watch your anger, watch your reactions to stress and conflict.

 Build trust by keeping your word, being there, spending time with your
kids, attending functions, being there and being involved.
 Your job as a parent is to protect your children and give them guidance as
they become adults. Setting up rules and having appropriate discipline is
important.

o Discipline is not the same as punishment. Discipline is setting up
the rules and guidelines. When they break the rules, you use
punishment to impact behavior.

Questions:

 What kind of relationship do you have now with your children?
 What role are playing in their lives?

 What challenges do you expect?
 What would you change about your relationship with your children?
