 It really comes down to communicating with your kids. Be open and
honest.

Before you Date:
 Make sure you’re ready to date. Know why you want to date.

 Don’t jump into a relationship immediately after a divorce, you’ll meet
more resistance
 Let your kids know that adults need time with other adults
 Talk to your kids about dating before you do.
 Ask them how they feel about you dating
 Tell them they are still the most important person in your life
 Don’t let your kids manipulate you into not dating
When it’s Serious:
 Talk to your kids about your new relationship BEFORE they meet.
 Do an activity instead of having to do a lot of talking or answering
questions.
 Make time to do things with kids, without your new boyfriend or
girlfriend – make it about the kids.
