When you’re not the primary parent, it’s up to you to make the most of the
time you do have with your children.

Having a good working relationship with your ex is one of the best things
you can do for your kids. Many struggles in a marriage come from parents
who have different parenting styles that cause them to clash.
Example: When you have an authoritarian style, and your ex is
totally uninvolved, it can be challenging when kids have one set
of rules in one location and a different set in another.

Understanding the other parent’s style of parenting can help you know why
they behave the way they do. Work together to communicate better and set
               realistic expectations for your kids.

Use the Parenting Worksheet to record ways that you can support your child
from a distance, and ways to work better with your ex.
